If anyone is familiar with Google Buzz or Messenger Live then they are going to LOOOVVVEEEE having a Facebook email address!!! Only not everyone has access to getting it straight away… Facebook is rolling the access out by country or state – just like they did with Facebook Places.
If you log into Facebook and open up your messages you may see a link to create a free facebook email. Click here to get a link that explains how to get your Facebook email and set it up.
But don’t despair if you don’t see it. I did a bit of digging in Facebook’s huge wealth of information in the Help Center and discovered if you can’t wait (like me) then you can request an invitation. Here’s the link: http://www.facebook.com/about/messages/
In the explanation Facebook gives you to create the email it explains how your facebook username will be used to create your email… eg Your email address will match your public username, for example:
Profile: facebook.com/username
Email: username@facebook.com
Some of you may not be aware that you can remove all those messy numbers after your name, and of course Facebook says you can do it when you create the email, but just in case you want to do it while waiting for that invitation to be accepted click on this link to set your username.
